Edale's main car park will be closed for approximately 1 week from Tuesday 13th October 2020 for resurfacing works. If the work continues into the weekend of 17th/18th October there is likely to be very little parking available in the village, particuarly since the charities and overspill car parks are getting a little soggy! The planned closure has been postponed.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic the 2020 Edale bonfire and fireworks display has been cancelled.

Edale Horticultural Society has had an unbroken record of 163 annual shows (including through both World Wars!). This year, for obvious reasons, the show couldn’t take place in its usual format so it moved online with villagers submitting photos of their entries and judges viewing them from their homes. 133 entries from 30+ entrants has maintained the society’s unbroken run of shows and can now be seen online: https://ehs.edale.org.uk

BR Standard Class 7 70000 Britannia is due to steam through Edale tomorrow (Saturday 22nd August) on its way from Manchester Victoria to York. The train is a chartered excursion through Saphos Trains and should be passing through Edale at approximately 1125. There are many good vantage points throughout the valley but expect them to be busy, particularly the station platform and the bridges over the railway line. Wherever you decide to spectate from please park responsibly, maintain social distancing and, most importanly, stay safe around the railway particularly with children.
