27th March 2020: Further to the information below, UK Government guidance is to NOT TRAVEL UNNECESSARILY even to exercise. This simply means, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT EDALE until restrictions have been eased or lifted. Visitors will be more than welcome once the coronavirus outbreak is over but do not expect a warm welcome at the moment!
22nd March 2020: Please, please, PLEASE don’t swamp Edale and other Peak District villages (or any others for that matter). Just because you’re outside and the sun’s shining doesn’t mean that the coronavirus decides to take a break too.
If you haven’t visited in the last day or so, Edale resembled this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-51994504
The Rambler Inn, The Nags Head and The Penny Pot Cafe are all CLOSED except for a limited takeaway service. Coopers Cafe and Chippy are both CLOSED.
For Edale residents there will be a list of local help and resources listed on this page.
