    You should not travel into a Tier 4 area from another part of the UK….

    Whilst you could technically still travel to Edale for exercise, please do consider whether your journey is essential. 300+ people call Edale home and would like to to stay as safe as possible during the pandemic.

  • Covid-19 / Coronavirus – 5th November

    We are now back into “lockdown” from 5th November in England and the government is advising against uneccessary travel.

    “In general, you must not meet people socially. However, you can exercise or meet in a public, outdoors space with people you live with, your support bubble (or as part of a childcare bubble), or with one other person. You should minimise time spent outside your home. When around other people, stay 2 metres apart from anyone not in your household – meaning the people you live with – or your support bubble. Where this is not possible, stay 1 metre apart with extra precautions (e.g. wearing a face covering).”

    Edale’s main car park will be closed for approximately 1 week from Monday 2nd November 2020 for resurfacing works. If the work continues into the weekend of 7th/8th November there will be very little parking available in the village.

  • Road Closure

    The road between Edale and Hope is closed between 26th and 30th October due to maintenance on the railway bridge crossing the road near Normans Farm. Access to Edale is only possible via Mam Nick until the works are completed.

  • Edale Car Park Resurfacing Postponed

    The planned closure of Edale car park from 13th October 2020 for 1 week to allow resurfacing has been postponed. The car park will remain open until a new date for resurfacing is scheduled.

  • Edale Car Park Temporary Closure

    Edale’s main car park will be closed for approximately 1 week from Tuesday 13th October 2020 for resurfacing works. If the work continues into the weekend of 17th/18th October there is likely to be very little parking available in the village, particuarly since the charities and overspill car parks are getting a little soggy!

    The planned closure has been postponed.

    Due to the coronavirus pandemic the 2020 Edale bonfire and fireworks display has been cancelled.

  • Edale Horticultural Society 163rd Show

    Edale Horticultural Society has had an unbroken record of 163 annual shows (including through both World Wars!). This year, for obvious reasons, the show couldn’t take place in its usual format so it moved online with villagers submitting photos of their entries and judges viewing them from their homes.

    133 entries from 30+ entrants has maintained the society’s unbroken run of shows and can now be seen online:
