Edale Society is the village’s historical society and holds historical records of the village.  The society has published a book called “The Book of Edale” which is a potted history of the village from its early beginnings until recent times (it was published in 2003).

As well as the documenting of the village’s history, the society holds occasional talks, an annual dinner and organises the biennial “Beating the Bounds” walk which follows the entire Edale parish boundary.
