Edale has it very own LTA affiliated tennis club which was formed in the 1980s and has a single hard surface court situated on the village playing field.
It has a very enthusiastic membership which is welcoming of all abilities who are encouraged to take part as much as possible. The club organises an annual tournament which is followed by a day of finals (usually in July) and it also has two more light hearted events; “East vs West” where the village is split by the road leading to Grindsbrook (moving house within Edale can be akin to defecting!) and “Midwinter Madness” played between Christmas in New Year which is only ever cancelled for deep snow or sheet ice – all other weather is fair game!
It is probably the tennis court with the best view in the country!
