Paragliding and Hang Gliding

Home / Things to see & do / Paragliding and Hang Gliding

On most fine days you will see at least one paraglider or hang glider soaring the hills and thermals around Edale.  The most popular sites nearby are Mam Tor, Lords Seat and Rushup Edge which are run by Derbyshire Soaring Club.  There are restrictions on flying at these sites, particularly around lambing and nesting season so please check with DSC before turning up to fly.

As always, it is well worth getting a comprehensive site briefing from a local pilot or club coach before flying from a new site.  The topography of Edale and the surrounding hills can make for some interesting meteorological effects!
